Lonnie Turner was a founding member of the Steve Miller Band. He played bass on the group’s first 4 albums, Children of the Future (1968), Sailor (1968), Brave New World (1969) and Your Saving Grace (1969).  He left the band in 1969 during the recording sessions of Your Saving Grace and was replaced by Bobby Winkelmann. After a 6 year break Lonnie returned to the group in 1975 and performed on two more albums, Fly Like an Eagle (1976) and Book of Dreams (1977). He continued as a live member of the band until late 1979.
